As with other recordings on this site, most of the material was previously released, but is repackaged so that each album has a different message. Since this old music is ONLY about "cultural messages", I want each of these new combinations in Diller/Nemec site to tell a story which fits with a 70 year old who looks back in wonderment and looks right now in wonderment and looks forward in wonderment. As well as forward with an Assurance based on Faith.

I thank you out there who have continued to support me over all these years. Though I began teaching in 1971, 1988 was the year Life gave me no option but to teach banjo as a career. David Nemec from Naugatuck CT chose to graciously help me out by recording and salvaging virtually all the Music that is being offered on Diller/YPCT and Diller/Nemec sites. By "salvaging", I mean so much of my recording in a studio is marginal. On this recording, this is an example of so many Musicians freely giving over the years.
The photograph above was taken by Carl Fleischhauer, 1971, at the home of these siblings of the Hammons family, Maggie, Emmie, Burl, Ruie. It was at their home 1/4 mile from Marlinton WVa, at a spot called Stillwell. Maggie is there looking in from the kitchen as I am thrashing about on the banjo.
